AMSL was officially launched in August of 2013 after the team at Bahamas Striping recognized that all of the 50-plus airports throughout the Bahamas were in urgent need of being upgraded to meet the airport safety standards by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and local regulator, Bahamas Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA).

As a result, AMSL was created to deliver highly specialized airside maintenance services to the aviation industry. 

AMSL launched with an historic strategic alliance and training facilitation agreement with a billion dollar global leader in airfield maintenance services, Hi-Lite Global. This alliance positions AMSL as the sole Bahamian company provider of ICAO and FAA compliant airfield maintenance and safety management systems to the country’s aviation sector.​
